While our bikes get masses of great feedback both in spoken and written words, a testimonial received the other day just had some words that not only hit the advantages of a Cunningham bike, but also underlined the rubbish (advert hype) that much of this industry has become. Its from a rider (not a racer) known to me for some years and one I’ve seen on everything from old school custom Masis (new then) to new school mainstream name full carbon rides. The new bike is a Dedacciai EM2/carbon with SRAM Force 2010 group and our new Claymore Clincher 1575 gm wheels.
It reads:
“First impressions were how well the bike handled….very stable. On this ride the road is a gradual incline much of the way and I noticed I was going much faster than even on my carbon bike. I finished this ride at least 5 minutes than I had ever done before. There is one short, steep hill on my way back that I usually hit at 20 mph at the bottom, struggling to make 5 mph at the top but on the new bike I seemed to fly up the hill without much effort.
It was surprising to find out how bad my best bike is compared to your bike. It makes me wonder if anybody at Specialized actually rode that bike before they sold it. Your bike beats it in every way except for maybe the brakes which are about equal. I couldn’t believe how much I enjoyed it. What a treat. Thanks very much.

There you have it. A custom fitted, custom painted 15.5 pound bike, sold for just over $4000.00, that thrashes a well known mass-marketed name. You can be a slow sheep or a fast, wiley wolf.
